The design involved the reconfiguration of parcel boundaries on the site to allow for the new building and to redefine a 5’ wide through-block public right-of-way as a linear park.
The ground floor amenity spaces, as well as neighboring ground floor restaurants and retail, open to the Laneway, creating the kind of mews condition more typical in Europe or Japan.
The building incorporates custom brick and precast details in the facade and features compact units organized in a point loaded plan. It will be one of the first buildings constructed in Boston using the city’s Compact Living Pilot.
